That's a good question. I asked the same question of
Al Gerard, who has trained literally thousands of athletes
with the trap bar. His response was that there has never been a
single athlete too big to use the Gerard Trap Bar.
In fact,
he designed the bar so that an athlete's size would never be an issue.
Case-in-point, the gentleman on the right Thomas O'Riordan -- or Tommy O. for short.
You may have seen him on TV, he was the bailiff on the Judge Hatchett show for several years.
Oh yeah,
Tommy is 6-feet tall and weighs just south of 300 pounds -- Looks like there's plenty of room to spare
so anyone saying the Trap Bar is "too small" has probably never trained with one.
